PHOTOS!
Hopefully this is going to work. Here are those photos I have been promising, I don’t really know what is most interesting to people, I just realized that I take a lot of pictures of people and very few of scenery, so I will work on that. Also, I have not taken pictures of Supras or of most of the food, and so that will have to come later as well. Hope these give you a glimpse of where I am living. On a side note, I signed my “Volunteer Oath” form, which basically means that aside from the whole ceremony part which will be on Wednesday, I am officially a Peace Corps Volunteer. I also took my language test on Sunday, and I was given a better score than I thought I would. Still lower than what we were all shooting for, but actually about average for all the volunteers. I have decided that languages are not my thing, but I am picking it up slowly and didn’t fall behind everyone, so I am pretty happy. Slow and steady wins the race right? Have I mentioned before that this language is insane? I have discovered my appreciation for languages with strict grammer rules. In this language you can say things in pretty much any order. Which I actually just find confusing, and somehow even though they keep telling me I can put it in any order when I try and put a sentence together I create the only possible combination of words that is not acceptable. So go figure. Aditionally, having to basically choke yourself to make half the sounds is really not that fun. But, I think when I start getting better at it I will love it. The people here tell me that Georgian is hard because it’s the best language in the world. They better be right. I might actually give up on Georgian soon and just learn Russian, since it would be way more usefull in life. Besides, most people assume I am Russian and speak to me in Russian, even when I say: A: I am American, and B: I speak a little Georgian. Then they keep speaking in Russian. I don’t really understand why. I also love it when half way through a conversation they double check, “Are you SURE you don’t speak Russian?” As if I would lie to them because its so much more fun to not be able to completely communicate in either English or Georgian. Anyway, enough blabbing- here are the pictures. I think.

Um no, my host dad sits around and smokes and watches insane amounts of Russian MTV. :) Sorry to burst your bubble, I have seen a little bit of the traditional dancing, but I have yet to be able to take any good pictures (wince they move quickly and the rooms have been dark. So, I will try and get some to you soon, but yeah... not lots of cool jumping or crazy outfits. Poo
