Technical difficulties...
Hello all, this is Chris, posting for Erica. Her laptop is having some technical problems so she may or may not be online checking email and updating the blog in the near future. She will be contacting IBM technical support in Georgia to have the problem taken care of, unfortunately however I don't know the time frame. I'll post updates as I receive them. :)

I sent a small packet and letter yesterday (July 2). We spoke to Erica by phone. She received 2 packets sent in May (thanks to Chris and Sarah, I think)...Laptop is still not working. Has anyone heard from Shuly? Erica mentioned 3 people being sent home, so the Peace Corps is pretty stict about behavior. She sounds great, is studying really hard, and has a really helpful host-mom (which is a wonderful relief!)...Hello to all of Erica's treasured friends and family.

Well, the official word was that they "chose" to go, but Erica thinks they might have just been made an example of. The rumors involve drinking more than "tastes" or "sips" as has been recomended. The rules for females are particularly strict. Anyone wanting to call her can email me at juliette@japan.com and I can give you her cell phone number. Erica did get a letter from Shuly. She will not have laptop use for another 4 weeks.
She appreciates knowing people are still checking here.

Erica is 8 hours ahead of the East Coast. She is not charged to receive calls on her cell phone, so she asked that I post it: we call 011 as our access and then the country code for Georgia is 995.
Her number is then 996-54-571.
